Energy Saving in UAE Buildings

Etisalat and Pacific Controls are rolling out the Emirates Energy Star program aimed at reducing energy consumption in the existing buildings controlling and managing lighting and air conditioning for maximum efficiency. The Emirates Energy Star project will plan , engage and execute Managed Energy Services with existing building owners. Each building will then be awarded a star rating based on efficiency. The program entails an initial audit that would identify potential Energy Conservation Measures ( ECM’s) commented Dr. Shane Rooney. The program will design ECM’s for individual buildings; establish minimum costs ; calculate the maximum energy savings; implement the project parameters; provide on-going monitoring after completion and carry out measurement and verification of the carbon footprint of the building.
